"No one will protect
what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced"

The Voice of Whales Collection

Based on Roger S. Payne's and Scott MacVay's scientific paper Songs of the Humpback Whales, published in SCIENCE magazine 1971, this is a nostalgic, yet modern and minimalistic it-piece, displaying a graphic of a humpback whale song on it's back.

"A world inspired by whales and led by community and cooperation - where whales, the environment and people are valued, respected and protected."

"I had the pleasure of participating in an evening meditation with whales led by Julia, from We.are.tohorā, during the Aroha Essence Festival. It was a profoundly deep and soothing experience. Lying on Mother Earth, Papatūānuku, under the starry sky of Ranginui, together with many other festival participants, I listened to the beautiful songs of humpback whales and delved into myself, feeling an increasingly overwhelming sense of deep connection with nature. Julia's introduction and her calm, soothing voice helped us all to unwind after experiencing the energetic ecstatic dance and transported us to a completely different dimension to encounter the magic of humpback whale songs. This experience will stay with me for a long time. Thank you, Julia, for this experience, and for sharing your passion for whales with us."
